The specific process of harmonic current testing

2025-04-09

The specific process of harmonic current testing usually includes the following steps:

1. Prepare testing equipment:

Choose a power analyzer or oscilloscope with harmonic analysis function, such as the R&S RTH series oscilloscope or harmonic analyzer.

According to the testing requirements, other auxiliary equipment such as current clamps may also be needed.

2. Set testing conditions:

Ensure that the UPS system (or other tested equipment) operates under rated AC input voltage, rated load (balanced resistive load), and inverter output conditions.

For electronic products, it is necessary to conduct testing in accordance with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and relevant national standards, and understand the standard requirements of the customer's location.

3. Connect the testing equipment:

Connect the test terminal of the power analyzer or oscilloscope to the AC input terminal or power load circuit of the device under test.

Use current clamps and other devices to ensure stable and accurate connections.

4. Configure test parameters:

According to the testing requirements, set the parameters of the testing equipment, such as measurement time, harmonic frequency range, etc.

Ensure that the parameter configuration of the testing equipment is appropriate for accurate measurement of harmonic currents.

5. Conduct testing:

Start the testing equipment, measure and record the harmonic current at the AC input terminal or power load circuit of the tested device.

During the testing process, it is necessary to ensure a stable testing environment and avoid interference with the test results caused by noise and other equipment.

6. Analyze the test results:

Based on the test results, calculate the content of each harmonic current and compare it with the requirements of relevant regulations and standards.

Usually, the harmonic content of each phase current at the AC input terminal of the tested device should not exceed 30% (specific limits may vary depending on different standards).

Analyze the distribution of harmonic currents and identify the presence of abnormal harmonic components.

7. Write a test report:

Organize test data, including information on harmonic current content, total harmonic distortion (THD), etc.

Write test reports and submit test results and analysis conclusions to clients.

The test report should include the test purpose, test method, test results, analysis conclusion, and recommended improvement measures.

During the entire testing process, special attention should be paid to the following points:

·Accuracy and stability of testing equipment: Ensure that the testing equipment has sufficient accuracy and stability to ensure the accuracy of the test results.

·Interference in testing environment: Try to conduct testing in an environment with minimal interference to avoid noise and other interference from other devices that may affect the test results.

·Understanding and application of standards: Deeply understand and correctly apply the requirements of relevant regulations and standards to ensure the compliance of test results.
