SASO certification

SASO is the abbreviation for Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, also known as the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization. SASO is responsible for developing national standards for all daily necessities and products, which also involve measurement systems, labeling, etc.

brief introduction

In fact, many SASO standards are established based on the safety standards of relevant international organizations such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Like many other countries, Saudi Arabia has added some unique items to its standards based on its civil and industrial voltage, geographical and climatic environment, ethnic and religious customs, etc. In order to protect consumers, SASO standards are not only applicable to products imported from abroad, but also to products produced domestically in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and Commerce and SASO require all products included in SASO certification standards to have a SASO certification certificate when entering Saudi customs. Products without SASO certification will be refused entry by Saudi port customs.

SASO certification includes all products used by adults and children in residential, office, or entertainment venues, all motor vehicles and spare parts, and construction products. These products can be mainly divided into the following categories:

Air conditioner SASO, battery SASO, cosmetics SASO, toy SASO, compressor SASO, fan SASO, household appliance SASO, wire and cable SASO, fax machine SASO, lighting SASO, optical power SASO, elevator SASO, generator SASO, office electronic equipment SASO, personal computer SASO, power SASO, automotive parts SASO, ceramic SASO, audio SASO, amplifier SASO, conference system SASO, mixing console SASO

All cities in Saudi Arabia use lower voltage, divided into two types: 127 volts and 220 volts (235 volts in Riyadh), both at 60 hertz; But in Mecca and industrial areas, higher voltages are used, including 220 volts and 380 volts, which are also 60 hertz Generally, both households and offices are equipped with two types of electrical sockets, 110 volts (i.e. 127 volts) and 220 volts, to supply electricity of different voltages
