Ek-mark certification

Introduction to ek-mark certification

Ek-mark certification is a type certification system supervised by the Korean government, which has been replaced by the new safety certification system. The new certification work is undertaken by several private enterprises, including KTL, Keti and esak. The newly revised electrical safety regulations act 6019 was promulgated on September 7, 1999 The newly revised electrical safety regulations have improved the safety control of production and use of electrical appliances, and also made the safety standards more international, so that they can be recognized by many countries in the future The new electrical safety regulations were officially implemented on July 1, 2000.

The product regulations in Korea are similar to those in Europe. The specification of Korean safety signs is based on Korean safety regulations. This regulation was amended on 1 July 2000. There are four main Amendments:

1. Korean safety regulations divide electronic products into two categories: mandatory products with EK mark and non mandatory products with k-mark.

2. The first factory inspection and annual factory inspection, including factories outside Korea, are mandatory.

3. Korea's electronic security standards are compatible with IEC standards.

4. Only the manufacturer can be the Licensee.

Technical information: the voltage in Korea is AC110V, 220V / 60Hz. Korean plugs are divided into grounded classi and ungrounded ClassII.

Certificate issuing: the holder must be a manufacturer. The product volume label shall be marked with EK mark. The EK mark sign shall also indicate the issuing unit (e.g. KTL) and certificate serial number (e.g. sd10031-0013).

Document requirements

2. Additional documents required

(1) application form;

(2) factory questionnaire;

(3) EMC test report;

(4) volume label in Korean;

(5) English technical documents of products;

(6) circuit diagram, parts list, PCB wiring diagram, etc;

(7) product photos;

(8) instruction manual in Korean;

(9) basic data of legal agents in Korea;

Factory inspection
After the documents are complete, the first factory inspection will be carried out. The interval between the first factory inspection and the annual factory inspection is determined according to the regulations on safety signs in Korea. Generally speaking, the inspection is once a year.
