VCCI certification
VCCI is the EMC certification mark of Japan and is managed by the Japan electromagnetic interference control council for interference by information technology equipment. VCCI certification is not mandatory, but information technology products sold in Japan are generally required to undergo VCCI certification. The manufacturer shall first apply to become a member of VCCI before using the VCCI logo. In order to obtain the approval of VCCI, the provided EMI test report must be issued by the test organization registered and approved by VCCI. Japan currently has no immunity standards.
Introduction to VCCI certification
VCCI certification in Japan is specifically for electromagnetic emission control of IT equipment. This certification belongs to EMC certification of products, which is different from the certification system applicable to various products in other countries. VCCI certification is non mandatory and completely based on the principle of voluntariness, but it is adopted by many companies to prove the quality of products. Therefore, VCCI certification is only "voluntary" in theory, and it is actually implemented due to market pressure. Only VCCI laboratory members are eligible for this certification, that is, such reports can only be issued by laboratories with VCCI authorization certificates. VCCI's membership is worldwide, not limited to Japan.
Manufacturers need to become members of VCCI to use the VCCI label. Global manufacturers can become members of the organization as long as they pay a membership fee and an annual membership fee. That is, after getting the product test report, customers have to go to VCCI to pay the inclusion fee and membership fee before they can use the VCCI label. This is the so-called registration procedure in Japan.
Products that pass the VCCI standard will allow the correct VCCI label to be attached to the product. The grade a label of the product shall indicate that the product complies with the RF radiation terms. On the contrary, grade B products only need to display the basic VCCI symbol.

VCCI certification process
1. The manufacturer or agent shall submit an oral or written preliminary application to the certification company.
2. The applicant shall fill in the application form and send the application form, product instructions and technical documents to the certification company (if necessary, the application company shall also provide a prototype).
3. The certification company formulates the scheme and quotes.
4. The applicant confirms the quotation, signs back the quotation, and sends the samples and relevant technical documents to the certification company.
5. The applicant shall provide technical documents.
6. The certification company sends a charge notice to the applicant, and the applicant prepays the certification fee according to the charge notice.
7. The certification company reviews the technical documents and organizes relevant certification activities.
8. If the technical documents are incomplete or do not use the specified language, the certification company will notify the applicant for improvement.
9. If the test fails, the certification company will timely notify the applicant and decide whether to suspend the project according to the situation, allowing the applicant to improve the product. The applicant shall change the technical data in the original application to reflect the actual situation after the change.
10. For the rectification costs involved in Articles 9 and 10 on this page, the certification company will issue a supplementary charge notice to the applicant.
11. The applicant shall pay the rectification fee according to the supplementary charge notice.
12. The certification company shall provide the applicant with test report or technical documents and VCCI compliance certificate.
